Annual Events

Besides the monthly meeting, the club also has a yearly picnic, a beach party, and an annual masquerade (the clubs biggest event of the year, held in October, which celebrates S.T.A.R.'s anniversary). There are also smaller activities throughout the year, such as horseback riding, trips to Universal Studios, movie outings, beach picnics, games, movie premiers, etc.

Conventions

Many S.T.A.R. members regularly attend various Science Fiction and Fantasy conventions. Most conventions present Guests of Honor from the literary world, media (television and cinema), and fandom; as well as having discussion panels, games and activities, fan art, masquerades (costume competitions), and bevy of related merchandise for sale.
